Durian is a seasonal trade. The clock reads the Pahang window; the curve reads the freezers.
The forward curve is in backwardation.
Spot trades rich to the deferred months: fruit on the ground now commands a premium the freezers cannot hold. As the Raub window closes the curve inverts and cold-store grades bid up. The exchange offers no guidance on whether to eat the collateral.
